The Dental Box are a high end dental practice in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

The Problem
The Dental Box turned a shell of a space into a luxury high end practice and they contacted us to design an infrastructure that was future proof, secure and had the ability to grow with them.
We offered an impartial solution of new infrastructure, equipment and phones. We needed to take into consideration the idiosyncrasies of deploying wireless technologies inside a dental practice and the limitations that this provided.
Lead lined walls which limited connectivity between surgeries and other practice areas was one of the problems that we had to overcome.
COVID related parts supply restriction and delays in deliveries put pressure on delivering the project in the desired timeframe.
Once the installation was complete, they required Dental IT support which could support their team and be the main point of contact for all IT related queries, including connectivity issues, software suppliers and service desk issues.
The Solution
We designed, a tailored, secure, organised and compliant Dental telephone and Ethernet network.
The client advised they wanted a smooth and seamless setup which covered WiFI, Microsoft 365, VoIP Telephony, CCTV, Internet connectivity, hardware supply and dental IT support, in time for the grand opening.
As part of a fully managed installation, all hardware was installed preconfigured and ready to deploy. Microsoft 365 deployment was carried out in tandem and we manged third party deployment of connectivity in time for the major installation milestones.
At the same time, a turnkey cloud VoIP Telephone system was deployed, along with professional greetings and a phone number was assigned early on, to allow for marketing efforts to start.
The final piece of the installation was configuration, specification and deployment of a fully manged, enterprise level CCTV system. As we were managing the entire installation, we could provide cost savings over redundant systems and utilised some of the new infrastructure for the CCTV system, as well as providing features over and above a standard SME CCTV System.
Working with the third party dental software providers, we were able to deploy the software on systems before they went live, allowing us to condense the time required for deployment, rather than just handing the system over to the third party provider. We continue to manage these relationships throughout the life of the managed services agreement.
What goals did we help you achieve?

We wanted a smooth and seamless set up which covered or communication needs. JLex organised everything, from the telephone line install with Openreach to the professionally recorded greetings on our VoIP system.
How did you find the process from initial enquiry to implementation?
The team have been a godsend throughout the project. Alex’s technical knowledge and Kerrie’s Personal customer service has meant the headaches of opening a new dental practice have been eased, knowing that the server and telephone systems have been taken care of.
Have you seen any bonus benefits that surprised you?
The email support ticket system is wonderful. Historically, we have waited on-hold to previous dental IT support companies, which wastes hours of productivity. Raising a ticket and knowing that it is going to be responded to within our chosen timeframe, has meant the business is able to continue to run.
The link to our Dental software support team has also been a huge surprise, and a great benefit when issues arise with our software, JLex, handle all correspondence and liaising with them to fix the problem, leaving us, free to focus on our patients and daily Dental business.

Go for it! You’ll be incredibly impressed at the knowledge and understanding of the techs and be blown away by their aftercare efforts and customer service.
Did you come up against any problems along the way and how did we help solve them?
Yes!
The lead lining threw a little spanner in the works with the Wi-Fi reaching all four corners of the building, but JLex quickly reconfigured the Wi-Fi access points to ensure we had a strong and stable connection, for both staff and a guest Wi-Fi.
Hopefully! The brand name was designed to become a group and given we have the support of a wonderful tech team behind us, I know that’s one area I won’t need to worry about.
What reservations did you have?
The leading dental IT support company was our obvious choice. And when comparing quotes I also factored in JLex’s honest an upfront discussions about some limiting factors of the competitors network design. Coupled also with their personal customer service and support.
